If you want to know how to compost at home, or at your business, or where to find nutrient-rich, contaminant-free screened and/or unscreened compost for sale in Northeastern Wisconsin (Greater Green Bay and the Fox Cities), then you’ve come to the right place!
If you’re looking for an Easy, Clean, Convenient, and Green way to recycle your food scraps and associated organics, meet your sustainability goals, or reduce your “carbon footprint,” then look no further!
Each week, we divert thousands of pounds of food scraps and associated organics from our local landfills, with the help of our hundreds of Compost Pickup Service subscribers, and transport them to our compost facility in the Town of Lessor, where we convert them, over the course of several months, into a nutrient-rich soil amendment known as compost, which we reward our subscribers with and make available for sale to the general public, year-round.
You place your full/semi-full buckets in an acceptable/agreed-upon Bucket Swap location, and we swap them out for new, clean buckets weekly, every other week, or every four weeks, depending upon which of our services you’ve signed up for.
7 OF THE BEST REASONS TO COMPOST WITH US:
A desire to divert your food scraps and associated organics from our local landfills (thereby saving us all taxpayer money, delaying the need for us to build another landfill in the near future, and preventing the release of toxic methane into our environment)
A desire to be a superior steward of the Earth and an amazing role model to your loved ones (particularly the children in your life).
A desire to avoid having to do all the “hard, dirty, smell work” of composting, while still experiencing all the benefits of it.
A desire to identify where most of your food is wasted and to cut down on the amount of trash you produce, by up to 50% or more (thus opening the door to major savings on your grocery bills and garbage disposal)
A desire to support (and ensure the survival of) the only food-waste-focused compost facility in the Green Bay metropolitan area
A desire to support a small, local, family-run business doing big things to make our a community a better, more sustainable place to live, work, and play
THE MAJOR BENEFITS OF COMPOSTING:
Reduces methane (a potent greenhouse gas) emissions from landfills.
Upcycles what would have been waste into a valuable soil amendment.
Enriches soil, via the addition of organic matter and nutrients, which results in better looking, better tasting food and reduces the need for chemical fertilizers.
Helps soil retain moisture, which results in less need to water plants.
Reduces soil erosion by improving soil structure.
Encourages the production of beneficial bacteria and fungi in our soil.
